‘So You Think You Can Dance’ India Version Winner Wants To Act in Films

So You Think You Can Dance: India first edition winner Alisha Behura hailing from Chattisgarh could not hold her excitement when finally her name got announced as Winner of India version. Also known as “Krump Queen” on the show, she impressed one and all by with her extraordinary moves. Soon, emerging as the winner of the Dance Reality Show Alisha confessed as she would love to explore the Acting field and pursue her career in that particular venture only.

The India version of the American-based dance shows “So You Can Think You Can Dance” had an impressive judgement panel of B-Town beauty Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Choreographers Terrence Lewis and Bosco Martis. The winner became the proud owner of  Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, a cash prize of Rs. 25 lakhs and gift voucher worth Rs. 20,000 from top-notch e-commerce company YepMe.

Queried over Alisha’s future perspective, she reverted as showing her intense interest in the acting field and being Varun Dhawan, her favourite actor; she would love to be cast opposite the B-Town hunk. Apart from acting, if given chance she might choreograph for the actor but be around him. On acting stints, the 17-year-old Bhilai girl exuberantly spoke that she haven’t learnt from any professional institution but acted on-stage.

Ar present, she is looking forward to choosing some offers especially the one coming from Colors TV hit Celebrity Dance Show “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa” or similar to it in the film industry. She continued on to motivate girls hailing from small cities or towns and encouraging them to participate in such shows.

According to Alisha Behura, “It was a great experience. I have been dancing since I was two and a half years old. It was a dream of mine to showcase my dancing skills to all and finally it has happened. I have taken training in various dance styles like ballroom, classical, hip-hop among others. I love to do power dance. When I gave my audition, I did a mix of hip-hop and Krumping. Like people haven’t seen a lot of girls performing such styles. So I thought to inspire girls through my performances to look forward to such styles as well.”

The winner credited her success to her parents thanking them for supporting her throughout the show. She even showed gratitude as it was her parents who kept encouraging her since childhood to pursue her dreams in dancing. Alisha left everybody stunned in her last episode before the Grand Finale on Sunday when she performed on Bollywood mix impressing first and foremost dancing diva Madhuri.

“So You Think You Can Dance : Ab India Ki Bari” aired on &TV from April 24, 2016, on weekends i.e. Saturday and Sunday during 9:00 p.m.
