Rajinikanth’s Daughter Elected As New UN Advocate for Gender Equality in India

Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya Dhanush has been elected the new advocate to United Nations for gender equality and women empowerment in India. The announcement was made during her appointment as women’s advocate from the United Nations by Lakshmi Puri, U.N. Assistant General and Deputy Executive Director.


Aishwarya’s present role would be help raise awareness of UN women’s core message regarding gender equality across India, thus boosting the organisation’s efforts to close the gap and achieve more as one world, by the end of year 2030. To choose Aishwarya as advocate in UN comprised prime quality which was inspiring confidence in young women and girls across South India.

Aishwarya in return felt obliged and honoured to recieve the post and always had an urge to work for women condition in India and thus helping United Nations to fulfill her goals would be an extraordinary way to rethink on such issues. To such achievement, superstar Rajinikanth stated that he was feeling “proud and delighted” with his daughter’s post. Getting associated with United Nations is in itself a very big platform to work in favour of women condition. Now, it would be easier to raise social causes like gender equality, women empowerment, girl education, and so on with much fervor, poise, diligent and exuberant manner.

If we take an in-depth look then Aishwarya has been listed among those celebrities which are already a part of UN and working thier hardest best to empower women across the globe. The list continues as Bollywood Actor-Director Farhan Akhtar, Indian Tennis Player Sania Mirza, Hollywood Actor Nicole Kidman, Hollywood Model-Actor Anna Hathaway, British Actor Emma Watson, Princess of Thailand  Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol, hence to name a few.

Hoewever, this is not the first time Aishwarya got engaged in philanthropic tasks thus working for underprivileged people. The event was attended by her husband Dhanush (Kollywood star), mother Latha Rajinikanth, father Rajinikanth in the capital today on September 2, 2016.
