According to recent rumors, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is all set to make a guest appearance in the second season of Anil Kapoor’s ’24’ Indian television series. The first season of the show appeared back in 2013 and was based on the American series of the same name.
The last time we saw Aamir Khan on the small screen, he was hosting Satyamev Jayate where he had been interacting with citizens of India and discussing the various social evils present in the society. ’24’ is going to be launched in the first week of June and if reports are to be believed, Aamir Khan will be seen on show’s launch along with Anil Kapoor.
The first season was set in Mumbai where Anil Kapoor played the role of ATS Chief Jai Singh Rathore. His character was someone who was morally torn between saving his family and bring loyal to his country. For the first Indian adaptation of the show, Rashvan Films acquired right from Fox and 24 producer Howard Gordon. Anil Kapoor came on board and struck a $20 million deal to adapt the series and play the lead role.
The first season was supervised by Manisha Sharma and directed by by Abhinay Deo, written by Rensil D’Silva and Bhavani Iyer. The season opened to be one of the most expensive TV shows ever produced in India and was called “one of India’s most ambitious TV shows.” While praising the show, The Telegraph stated “… a big thumbs up to its well-chosen cast. Every actor fits perfectly into his or her role, with a special mention for Mandira Bedi’s Nikita, Neil Bhoopalam’s Aditya and Tisca Chopra’s Trisha.”
The season two storyline involves saving the country from some significant tragedy and later exposing the culprits. Besides Anil, some of the new star cast include Sakshi Tanwar, Surveen Chawla, Sikander Kher, Mudhurima Tuli, Asish Vidyarthi, etc.
The second season of 24 will be officially launched in June.
